I was wondering where I could find a Hood for a 2000 Eclipse GT that has a Ram Air kit. I usually see fiberglass hoods on american muscle cars that are paintable, but what the heck is carbon fiber and is it paintable? I plan on getting a new hood because my original is hail damaged badly.

 

carbon fiber is a material that is a loooooottttt lighter than fiberglass and also a lot stronger. if you can find a good deal on a CF hood, by all means go for it. and yes it is paintable

 

A ram air hood is useless on that car. You can get it for looks if you like the looks but personally i wouldnt do it. Dont buy it from ebay either cuz youll probably end up having problems with fitament
