2001 Eclipse Stock Stereo Removal
Hey, wassup all. I just bought a 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT equipped w/ the Infinity 4 CD changer that has managed to jam and stop working all together. Upon searching ebay, i came across the same stereo for sale, put a bid on it, won, and now i am waiting to receive it in the mail. The question is, how do i remove the old stereo from the car to put in the "new" one? I'm definitely considering upgrading the entire sound system (I already have 2 12" subs w/ a 1000 watt amplifier from my previous car--Volvo 850), but the stock head unit will be fine for now, at least until i get used to my car. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Carl.

Well, I didn't have the cd changer, but I'm guessing that it's right below the receiver where I have this little tray. There's 2 screws on the bottom of the center console, then the whole piece should pop out, and un-plug the hazzard switch, and you should be in buisiness. Just use care when prying the thing off, lol.
Thanks alot to to the both of you for your advice and suggestions......but where do I start? In other words, what do i do first to remove it? Any suggestions are appreciated.
Thanx, carl.
