if you get a connecting piece ....its call the metra m707003( i dont know if thats the exact part number for an 02)....but you can look it up on line its Metra, and it isnt expensive you can pick it up at the store or have it mailed.. look it up for an 02 eclipse. That will allow you to hook up an am headunit and itll bypass the stock amp ....I was going to have to rewire my car to do the system as well...but there are ways around it, I can prove it because I never rewired anything and my trunk is rattling as we speak .......then again what are you installing? subs? size? amp? brand? how many? ....depending on that I could be wrong....
