Default Code - P0302

2001 Eclipse GT auto is getting a reading of the #2 cylinder misfire detected. Any suggestions to what might need to be done to correct this problem greatly appreciated. Thanks, Skoot61

Dude I just went threw the same exact thing not even 5 days ago! I had a short in my injector harness. Now that may not be ur prob, but u might see if that plug is gettin spark. If it is, before you take out the injector, check the harness. Push, pull, and lightly pinch the the harness around the #2 injector. If there is a short, you will know. If that don't work start looking at that injector, clean it really well first. Try soakin it in sum B-12 Chemtool, and if that don't cut it, replacing ur injector. I did all that first before I ever thought to look for a short. Hope that helps ya man!

most of the time oil leaks into the spark plug tube seals and causes a misfire. tube seals and valvecover gaskets will need to be replaced.
