My wife recently got a 2001 Spyder GT. Nice car, I'm impressed. It was a babied one owner car in great shape, red with tan leather interior and tan top. Thanks in advance for helping me with these questions.

1. The brakes squeal a little from time to time. Not bad and not all the time, but it annoys my wife. I looked it over and the rotors look good. They don't seem to be warped, no pulsing during braking.The pads have over half the brake material on them. Just wondering if this is common? Would swapping out the pads help? I saw Hawk ceramic pads are available (I have them on my 2004 GTO and like them a lot). Has anyone used them on these Eclipse cars?

2. Do I need to use anything to condition or treat the convertible top?

3. There is a tiny bit of play in the motor mounts. Was thinking about getting poly bushing inserts like the Prothane ones at nobi.com. How hard are those to replace?

 

1. hawk is fine i have them also.. no noise.. but i have to change mine lol..
2. just dont put regular soup on the rag top.. you have to get a special kinda of cleaner for it.. iw ould suggest it. or you will be stuck what im doing now replacing it..
3. get new mounts... and make sure the passengerside one replaced asap.. because thats is the one that goes out the most and quickets.
