Cowl Shack
I just traded in my 98 3000GT for a 03 Eclipse Spyder 30k miles (just had to get back into a rag top). Have been noticing cowl shake when I hit a bump. Being a ragtop I know it can be somewhat loose. The Eclipse has an OEM strut tower brace but still to loose for me. Any advice?
Thanks
Thanks
cowl shake is unavoidable on pretty much any convertible. There is nothing you need, or probably can do about it.
the third gen eclipse is MUCH more rigid than the second in this regard, but its a basic chassis issue that is more up to the engineers than anyone else.

Thanks for your post.
It's not a sound, it's shacking of the car when I hit a pothole, bump, railroad tracks etc. Things like strut tower braces are ment to help but my car already has an oem strut tower brace.

I know what you mean, I remember it in my 1962 MGA, but I have had two Mazda Miatas and they where as solid as a rock. The Mazda engineers must have done a great job. I thought by 2003 all the engineers would have figured it out.
