I have an 2003 eclipse spyder GT!! I had to disconect the battery the other day so I could get into the car because someone stole my keys!! Now the car wont start!! Could it be my battery?? Or something else??

PLEASE HELP!!!

 

make sure the batery teminals are tight and not corroded

 

There looks like there is croding on top of the battery!!

Ill just buy a new battery and see if that works!!

 

If there is corrosion, just take connectors off and take some sand paper to the terminals and cables connectors to remove the corrosion. That should be all you need to do assuming the battery isn't dead.

 

exactly as metal said. Just clean them off and see what happens. Also what is it doing when you try and start, are you getting anything, like trying to turn over, or is it just dead

 

that's where i was going with it. does it click at all? does your light come on when you open the door? dont' go buy a 40 dollar battery when it could be some 5 dollar terminal connectors.

 

Its completly dead it doesnt turn over or anything!! When I open the door the door open light blinks and keeps beeping. It will start with a jump. But other than that it wont start.

 

well make sure you clean the terminals first beforeyou do anything.you can use sandpaper, a small wire brush or simply go to the parts store and buy a battery terminal cleaner. the same thing happened to my car, and i cleaned the terminals and the wire connectors and it started right up.

 

lol, try dumping Pepsi on the batt terminals?

 

thats actually not a bad idea...pepsi is really acidic b/c of the carbonation lol it could work i would try it...its gonna be messy though lol
