Default Dying horn...

[sm=americanasmiley.gif]Hi everyone, happy Memorial weekend! I'm new to this forum, so any help is greatly appreciated. I have a 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT, 6 cylinder. My horn is making a pathetic sound, so it needs to be replaced. The wiring is fine, the horn is just done. My brother in law can replace it, if I can find the correct part. I tried searchingseveral sites, butcan't seem to find one. Being a woman, I'dhate to take it to the dealer or someone else who might take advantage of my lack of knowledge.Cananyone direct me? Thanks!

tell you the truth, you can do a google search on car horns and just buy one an rewire it. you can get a ooga horn, a normal honk horn...what ever you want. forget the dealer, if you want an OEM go to a junkyard and pull one off any car or an eclipse if you can find one.

i think this one would suit you if you really want to go crazy

That's hysterical pool. I listened to the sound snippet in the link. Sounds like a freight train barreling down on you. Awesome. I'd recommend you buy a defibrillator with that because someone WILL have a heart attack:

To the original poster if you do wish to stick with the OEM part I believe the OEM part number is 8211A020 and the price listed at about $20, or just grab it at the junk yard like pool suggested.

The dealer can confirm the part number and price and order it for you. It's their labor charge for installing it that kill ya.

Wow, that horn would definitely clear the snow birds out of my way! [sm=devilgrin.gif]
I did try internet searches but couldn't seem to find a Mitsubishi-specific horn. I guess the car type doesn't matter?

heh yeah.....

it shouldnt matter what horn you get just as long as you wire it up right. umm there should be some oem sites that you could pull a horn off of.

check this one.... its 16 bucks for a new one.

but like i said, if you can find a junkyard that will let you pull the stuff of the cars...just snag a new horn, it might be cheaper.
