I have been doing some reasearch on my 2001 eclipse gs. I was told that i could swap out my head and put on an evo head. Is it true that i can put on an evo head on my engine, and if so what gen of evo and what other mods would i have to do to swap the heads out?

 

Alot of mods and if you dont have a sick nasty turbo setup then you will be wasting money. For the cost of an evo head and the work it will take to put it on your could hit e-bay and make a turbo kit for your car that will make it much faster.

 

I'm hearing that an evo 8head will fit (i think the evo 4-9 heads are all the same) since the timing in passenger oriented but you will have to do the same mods as the older eclipses doing the evo 1-3 headswap. Freezeplug oil holes, get 4g64 camgears, slowboy makes the kind you wouldneed.

Who told you this swap is possible? I dont really see how that could be managed. Ive never heard of it, or anything even SORT of like it.... Sounds like a bunch of **** to me.... You may want to look further into that

ya i've almost got the money and a few people have said they've seen it, I'm pretty sure it will worksince the block on the evo is almost identical, except for the fact that it is shorter. I'm definatley gonna do the swapand anyone with a 3g eclipse wanting to turbo or wutever i think should consider it.

 

If it worked that well, it would be a more popular swap... are you sure youve got all your t's crossed and i's dotted?

 

The only reason many ppl haven't done this swap is becuase there arent many evo 4-9 in junkyards, im gonna build my head from slowboy parts
