Default Fading top

I'm new to the forum so if this has been covered forgive me.
I have a 2005 Spyder Remix. May just be me but seems like the top is not as black as it should be. I rinse it like crazy when I wash it. Use a very soft brush. I was told not to put anything on the top it would help it cause deterioration.
So is there something I can get to put on it to help protect it and bold up the color? Or do I leave it alone and just rinse and rinse. I don't have a garage and a car cover is too much trouble for a car I use all the time.
Thanks for any info. Don't want to ruin my top.

You are thinking right. Don,t apply something that you don't know much about.
