GT Gas?

RE: GT Gas?
both versions of the3g 6g72 REQUIRE at least 91 octane. if you use less and like putting the pedal down hard youll regret it at some point plain and simple. I did in my GS I had before my GT and guess what when a rod flys out of the bottom of your block it is not a pretty site. that is extra abuse on the motor and it is even worse for the GTS versions

Dude, Sebs 110% right here, on both things. The car was DESIGNED to use premium fuel. Trying to run anything else will even in most places VOID your warranty (to a point). He also correct in this being a MAJOR reason why Mitsus (especially eclipses of the 4g63t vareity) get a bad rep.. you know how many idiots I knw running **** (87) thru thier t/c'd motors? Thats terrible for the car. It may not seem like it now, but I can guarentee that over time it WILL cause a problem. To those of you claiming that your car doesnt say its prefered fuel, that is likely. Remember that it was a STICKER on the inside of the fill cover, and a LOT of dealerships (mostly used cars) pealed them off (or never installed them to begin with) as to make it seem to run 87 thru em, that way they seemed cheaper to own and fuel. When people brought them back to Mitsu "under warranty" they claimed that the consumer peeled off the sticker, and they were thusly NOT liable for the damages done to cars. deadeclipse.com had a thing about it, and Ive heard of it happening. (Not just on Mitsus either, Benz, Ford, Lexus and a few others.) But TRUST me, those cars GT/GTS and the GST/GSX MUST run premium.
