Unhappy HELP!!! water in intake!

Had a massive rain storm here today and was driving home on the highway. There weren't puddles the entire road had like 3 inches of water on it so there was no way to avoid the water but basically what happened was all of a sudden the car shut down so i rolled to the shoulder. I called my buddy and he said it may b bad and it may not, try to start it. So I tried just once and it turned over fine and studdered a bit like it was trying to start but wouldnt start. I didnt wanna do any dmaage so i had it towed home and took the cold air intake off to find traces of water in the tubing. Not pooling of water or anything terribly significant just water vapor like. The entire intake assembly is inside my house drying out now. So how should I go about tackling this fix? and is my car completely toast? Thanks so much in advance for any help.

Pull all the plugs out, crank it over to get any water in the engine, then change the oil.

Ok is there anyway of telling if water ACTUALLY made it into the engine before i do all that? The spark plugs take hours on the v6. Is it possible that the mass airflow sensor shut the car down before water continued up the intake and into the engine?

Haha nope you need to pull the plugs so you dont risk damage to your engine. Thats the only way.

Hey dsm thanks for all tips...did exactly what you said, found no water in the oil or behind the spark plugs just for the record. Started the car and it ran rough so i reved it a few times and it leveled out beautifully. Let it idle for about 10 min.'s then took it for a test drive. Now the only thing that happened is that on the test drive it threw the "service engine soon" light. Had it scanned and reads: PO135- O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfuntion. Any thoughts on why it threw this and how to go about it?

I did this in my 00 GS a long long time ago. I ended up just cranking the car over and over untill is started and it smoked like a **** prob evaping alot of water I swallowed.

No real issue with the car up front but over some time I ended up tossing a rod threw the oil pan. Im sure it did some damage to the rod bolts.
