Thanks E monz. Great pics. Love the last one. What a sleek looking car. New background for my desktop. I'm kinda concerned with the cars history. Carfax reports 3 owners in the last 3 years. I'm gonna have the dealer order me a new boot if he can't get the previous owner to return it.

Look at the mileage when each of the previous owners gave the car up. It may have been a lease vehicle or something of that sorts. Also check for any outstanding TSB repairs and recalls and have it verified that they've been done. Oher than that depending on how she looks and sound it sounds like you got a good deal goin there. Of course ALWAYS try to jew the dealer down a bit more.

The car averaged 6000 miles the first 2 owners. Then 30,000 this last year. The dealer was asking 14,900 for it. When I test drove it and then went back to haggle, he came down to 13,400. It's amazing what a few " I'll think it over" will get you. 30 day 1000 mile warranty. My last haggle move will be to extend the warranty at leat a year since I'm not familar with these cars. This deal has been going on 2 weeks now and he seems ansy to close the deal by the end of the month. I originally started out looking at Solstices, then drove a mx5 which is more in my price range. Finally settling on an Eclipse. If I could change anything on the car, I wish it was a stick. Other than that it seems like a solid car. This is it Thanks for all the input.

As it turns out, I found another one that is same price with 32,000 miles. It's a 2001 red gt with tan interior and top. What a sweet combination. Should be mine by weeks end. Perfect timing, here in Pittsburgh it's gonna hit the upper 50's later this week. Question though, When I drove it today the saleman told me not to put the top down cause it's too cold out. He's heard the metal supports may expand and bend. Then there's a chance the top wouldn't line up right and might leak. Ever heard of this problem?

I dunno about beause of cold or whatnot but I remember someone having custom parts made for it and selling some cuz he had to order a certain amount to get them made so he had extras....
