I just bought a 2001 eclipse gt for a little more than $8000. 5-spd. v6 w/ DOHC and all... fast little car. But there's a problem. The guy I bought it from said the keyless entry remote's battery was dead. I took it to have a new battery put in it, and it still doesn't work. What gives? Do I have to have it re-programmed? Or is that something I can do on my own?

 

Mine was busted right off the bat. I had an alarm installed that is much more sensitive than the OEM alarm from Mitsubishi.. Dropped a few hundred for it, got a great alarm system w/ keyless entry, trunk pop.

Do you know if the remote is busted, or just not programmed? If its busted, you may need an aftermarket one. Not sure how to program it.

 

You can program it with a paperclip and a spare 5 mins.
...or you can have Mitsu. bend u over a table to do it.
