pop your hood?
I have 2001 Eclipse Spyder GT Convertable 3.0L dual cam. I was driving down the road and heard something hit under me and then went flying out the back down the highway. When I pulled off and checked..... my serpentine belt was hanging loose. Ive seen about 10 diffrent diagrams for how to put the belt back on, but each shows diffrences, some have an idler pulley under the alternator pulley. Some say this is a tensioner pulley. Some dont show it at all. I dont see one, and Im not sure if maybe the whole housing just came off....but in the chilton/haynes manual they only have one picture, to which I dont see it either. The manaul has break down diagrams for all the other engines but the 3.0 and hardly gives us any pointers at all through out the books on 3.0s. So I ask please...If you have a 2000-2002 gt....pop the hood on yours....is there a tensioner/idler between the alternator and ac pulleys? (I don't mean the tensioner between the crankshaft and alternator) The mitsubishi book diagram shows 7 pulleys in the powersteering/ac belt system...does yours have 7?
