Default Random Ticking on Startup

I have a 2003 Eclipse GT 3.0 and when i start it up it starts ticking for about 30 seconds. On every startup it ticks for a different amount of time. Sometimes it doesn't even tick at all. I notice that if it sits for a longer period of time then it will tick longer. I've been told that it is most likely my lifters. If it is my lifters do i need to replace them or clean them. Can it be a do it yourself job or should i leave it up to an automechanic. Could it also be a blockage in my oil flow because ive never really checked. Is there anything i can put in my oil to get that out if there is any. It seems to only do it mostly when its cold out, thats when i notice it the most. It is so annoying and very embarassing. Any Suggestions? Thanks!

Its your throw out bearing. Its perfectly normal on those cars... for some reason they are really loud.

Nothing to worry about.
