Default reverse lights stuck on

I have a 2000 Eclipse with 5 speed and I just noticed the reverse lights wont go off. I assume its a bad tranny sensor. Where on the tranny would this sensor be? Any idea what a new one costs?

Thanks!

hey, autozone says they sell them for about 12 bucks, but then again i haven't had much luck with them recently. anyway, the switch should be right on top of transaxle. you'll need to take out the battery and battery shelf to get to it. once that's done, look on the top of the tranny towards the back driver's side and you should see a wire sticking out, that should connect to the back-up light switch
