Default timing belt.

I have a 2000 gt and I was wondering if anyone had put a timing belt on theirs? I wanted to do it myself but was wondering how hard of a job this would be to do.

If its not something your comfortable doing or you are not sure how to do i would suggest just not doing it yourself, spend the little extra money to have it done right because you have to make sure that the belt is put back on with the correct timing and that you have the correct tension on the belt. The littlest mistake could easily bend some valves. Take it from me, i had to have my entire head rebuilt.

If you are going to do it yourself then just make sure you do your homework.

if you have very little mechanical experience, pass on this idea. its not an easy job. there is a reason the dealership charges so much in labor.....its alot of work.

the V6 makes it even more of a project. I would pay someone to do it cuz if its done wrong you will have an expensive rebuild on your hands since the car has 2 heads you dont want to need to pull them off to replace valves
