I have an 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS, I was planning on modding my air intake by putting on a cone filter but i forgot about the warranty i had on it til now. My warranty covers the engine and tranny til 60,000miles and now i have 38,000. Will the modification of the air intake void the warranty given by mitsubishi?

 

depends on what type of problem you end up with. Like say you get a problem with your intake manifold and you have a CAI, they may not warrenty it.

 

yeah the dealer is really picky about that kinda stuff. when i called them about ordering a shortblock (to make my grandpa happy) i asked them what will void a warrenty and said all kinds of stuff. so i said " will an exhaust oid the warrenty" and they said yes and i as like WTF!!!!. so im not getting it, im getting buschur.

 

if you have a warrenty problem you just take the intake of before you head to the dealer, not too hard. its hard for them to prove an intake caused engine failure but i guarantee if it comes down to it they will try.

 

AN INTAKE WONT VOID YOUR WARRANTY THEY HAVE TO PROVE THAT THE PARTS YOU PUT ON CUASED THE PROBLEM AND AN INTAKE WONT CAUSE ANYTHING TO GO WRONG
