Default 01' Ecipse Wiring Problem

Hello, I currently own a 2001 Eclipse Spyder GT. I am currently trying to install a Kenwood eXcelon KDC-X592 in place of the factory stereo. On crutchfield it says the stereo will fit the car and it does. I have had two friends who are very experienced at car audio installations and they still can't solve this conundrum.

The factory radio works completely fine. I have the bigger harness hooked up fine and the RCAs are plugged into the radio snug. All of the car's wiring is hooked up to the radio unit except the smaller harness (it's half the size of the main harness) that you would usually plug into the bottom left of the back of the factory radio, sorry I don't know the name of the plug. The Kenwood radio powers up fine, the equalizer is going along with the radio's music but I'm getting no audio. What do I need to do with the smaller harness that's now not being used by this new radio? Could someone please help me who has experience with Eclipse audio setups because my friend who do not are no further of help

Thank you!

Default RE: 01' Ecipse Wiring Problem

hey just did mine and had the same problem. your car should havethe infinity system and there should be a big black round wire that hooked up to your factory stereo. thats for the audio. it runs to the amp under your passenger seat. i ordered the special harness from crutchfield and it worked. and that other little harness loses me, if i had to guess...it would be for the display for the factory stereo, cause mine is left unhooked. hope this helps
