Default 99 Eclipse Wiring problem!

Ok, well in have a 99 Eclipse RS, the only wiring that i can find that has ever been messed with is the Stereo, BUT with the aftermarket stereo in, when you hit the brakes, turn on the headlights, or defroster, the CD player will stop playing for just a few seconds, and it's driving me up the wall! also the Rear lights fuse keeps blowing, and sometimes the turn signals stop workin, and the Control box that controls the turn signals will click, but no turn signals, i haven't taken the rear hatch panels out to check that wiring but i think thats the problem. HAS ANYONE got any ideas, i have a good idea to just burn it down and start over, but i'm still paying for the car. the problem could be a ground wire problem but i dont know where all the grouns are. oh and on a side note the battery light will come on going down the road, but i have had the battery and alternator tested twice and both times they read fine!

sounds like a short somewhere in your tail light wiring, take the pannels off and check it just by eye, as for when you turn things on and the stereo shuts off. . . if it's an aftermarket stereo, check the stereo ground, i had one do that once, the ground kind of giggled out of where i had it, i relocated the ground and made it more secure and i was good to go.

Your ground giggled RC? I'd be scared...

Seriously though it sounds like someone MAY have decided the lighting circuit was a good place to tap the 12V constant into. The quick interuption from using the lights would likely be enough to kill the radio for that short time. Check where they hooked the 12V constant fromt he aftermarket stereo up to (Yellow wire off the head unit) and also check the ground like RC said. After checking that, look at the wiring as you previously stated you would and also consider replacing the blinker relay (should be like $5 or less). Let us know what you find.

ha ha, don't get me wrong, i do everything right the first time but i didnt have a full loop in the ground where you screw it into the chais or where ever you decide to and the screw must have come out in time, i put some lock-tight and a new scew in there and it's worked like a jem ever since.

I was kinda pointing out the fact that you said you had a ground that giggled... What did your ground find so funny? What does an electrical giggle sound like? lol (I think you meant wiggled not giggled)

Read my first post like I said check how the radio is wired in. I have a feeling the previous owner jacked that up somehow. Maybe nicked a wire he shouldn't have or something.

Yea, i will but see the only problem with that is, I went back and re-wired that stuff, I didn't CHANGE anything on how it was wired before, just made better connections, and now, I have the CD player completely unhooked, and while the car is running if you turn on the headlights, the RPM flicker, like as soon as you hit the switch the gauge drops like it loses power, and pops right back on, and it does it really fast so it's kind of hard to explain, but i'll work on it tomorrow (sunday) and see what i come up with, if i have to, i will film what it's doin and link a video up or something.
