07 Outlander Amp Install questions
have recently bought a 2007 Outlander LS. It was a dealer leftover and i got a great deal. I love it.
It came with the stock 6 speaker, single CD, MP3 compatible 114(?)watt system. I like the speakers and i don't want to install a super system but i find that the volume is a little low. (Speed Volume is not on).
Under the front passanger seat, there is the platform where the amp would normally go in the higher end system. There are also a number of wires. Are these wires that have been pre-run for the installation of the amp? I know that mitsubishi installed the wiring for power seats in the LS even though you don't have them installed.
If the wires attached to the bracket under the pass seat are not for the connection to an amp, what are they?
I thank you in advance for any info.

honestly, I'd stay away from the factory audio systems. They're all right, but not worth the money you'd sink in it for a new amp from the dealer, and there's still no knowing what other wiring you'll have to do. My suggesiton is this; good quality 4 ch amp and new speakers, mono block amplifer and a small subwoofer. This will get you 10x better sound quality than Mitsu's best premium sound package can offer. It'll cost you more to do, but in the end there is no comparing a properly installed aftermarket sound system to a factory system.
Lil Evo, Thanks for the advice and i totally agree with you. Right now i want to add an aftermarket amp to the Stock system. Mitsubishi is great about pre-installing wiring in the Outlander for various add-ons such as power seats, bluetooth, rearview camera, trailer hitch...etc. The mount for the amp is under the front pass seat. There are a lot of wires going to it. Are some of these pre-installed audio wires that would go to Rockford amp? If so, which ones (grey bundle)? I don't mind running the power wire if it is not there but opening the console and splicing and running speaker wires can be a pain.
