Default In-Dash Dvd Reciever Problem

I have an 1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse Gs and i bought an In-dash dvd reciever. The only problem im having with it is that i cant figure out how to bypass the parking brake wire so that the dvd player will work without the brake being applied? I tried attaching the wire to the ground but it still didnt work. Can any body help me solve this problem?

This probably needs a trick. Try attaching the sensing wire to a +12V through a resistor say 1 KOhm. When you power up DVD short the wire to the ground and see what happens. You may want to design a circuit that does it automatically everytime you power up. Let us know of results.

you are pretty stupid if you want to watch movies while you drive. is your entertainment worth someone elses life? not to mention that it's a federal law that video is never supposed to be visable bya driver, and that, at least here in ohio, the minimum fine is $500. Possibly a stay in the county jail and your car getting impounded as well. Not worth it in my opionon.

Nobody said anything about watching a movie while the car was moving! I tried attaching it to the parking brake but that didnt work. I dont plan on watching it while i was driving!

well unless you've got a DVD based navi unit that restricts POI's and such, what's the point of a bypass? Not trying to be a dick man, but it's just that I get asked this question every single day and most people don't seem to care that about other's safety.
