Default Entire Sound system help

ok, i am really screwed here, this guy from wal-mart put my stereo in, and this was back when i had no idea about anything in my 1997 eclipse rs. so it powered up, but there was no sound at all. he cut my harness out, and didnt even bother buying a cross-over harness to connect it to my head unit. so now i have a powered up cd player and no sound, it will display the time on the cd as if it was playing but there is no noise. i have tried everything, i bought a stock harness, and a cross over harness and soldered all the wires back and that didnt work, so then i tried buying some speaker wire and i cut my rear right side speaker and connecting it to the speaker wire i bought and connecting that to the corresponding wires on the head unit and still no sound. am i completely screwed and have to take my car for some professional help, or is there something im overlooking? any help would be GREATLY appreciated. thanks guys. -A.J.-

Well if you resoldered the old harness and bought a harness adapter and it still doesn't work I would check the deck itself and make sure he didn't fry anything there. Also double check your wires.
