03 eclipse CEL

How do you reset the check engine light? i did the repairs and dont know if it resets its self or do you have to reset it? tried removing neg battery cable and it did not work.

I think it depends on the reason the light is on. I think most have to be reset by the scanner tool while others (like fuel pressure leak from filler neck) reset if the problem goes away.
