Hello,

My 03 Montero limited dies after starting if I don't give it gas. This has happened several times. After a few days riding the brake and keeping rpm's up when stopped, I'd get in one day and it worked normal for as long as a couple weeks, then would start killing on me again. I've cleaned the IAC with gumout, and it did nothing. I've tried the reset procedure with the gas petal many times. I've ran Sea Foam through the tank. Now it seems whatever it is, wants to stay inoperable. I don't have a code reader, but the traction light on the dash comes on when this happens. Can anyone please help?
