1996 Eclipse 2.0L Non-Turbo Won't Start - Need Help
Hi all,
1996 Eclipse, 2.0L non-turbo (Chrystler)
Spun the No. 1 rod bearing. (started taping, pulled head and found problem)
Pulled engine and tore it down.
Block vatted, reconditioned, cylinders honed, crank turned, No. 1 rod replaced, rods reconditioned.
New bearings, new rings, new oil pump, new timing belt, gasket set.
Everything cleaned and checked.
Everything went together well, no problems. Took our time, used the Chilton for guidance, and the engine is back together and back in the car.
Now it will not start! Cranks like a charm, but will not fire up.
Spark to the plugs.
Fuel in the rail (not sure if it is getting to the cylinders).
Double checked timing.
Triple checked all wires and vacuum hoses.
Son is in the process of checking out the crank sensor.
Any suggestions on other possibilities?
Thanks,
Mike[/align]
