We have picked up a 97 eclipse. The car has obviously bottomed out a few time as the rails that run under the floor pans are worn and dented (not to mention slightly rusty - Chicago car) Knowing this is a unibody car, I would like to reinforce these. It would appear that I should be able to overlay the original rails with a u channel with wings that could be welded to the floorpan. This would then overlay the front and backsubframe .

Anyone had to replace or repair this ?
