Hello everyone,

when i try and open the back door of my 07 Grandis (the liftgate) it makes the electronic sound, but will not open. the manual says that there is a lever to use in the event the battery is drained to open the door. i have been able to reach the lever by removing the small panel on the inside of the door, but it doesn't do anything. furthermore i can see that the lever gets pushed by the electric mechanism when trying to open the door from the outside.

How to get the door open, and what do i need to replace? any help whatsoever is appreciated. (link to a service manual even)
