Default 3M tape removal tips?

During our last severe wind storm around here(90+ MPH),that I'm still cleaning up fallen trees & a damaged garage roof. Also, the tarped "carport" that was cemented down at 4 corners where my Galant was parked, was snapped off at the mounting bases,& scraped over the car when it was blown hundreds of feet into the neighbors yard. It partially ripped off one smoked Lexan window visor also, that was attached with that 3M super sticky tape. My question is "what is the proper way to remove this stuiff so I can replace the visor, w/o damaging the paint underneath?" Help! [:@]

Go to an autoparts store and you'll find some Goo Gone or something like that. Use this stuff to remove the remaining adhesive. If you don't have a heat gun a hair dryer will work ok too. Just get a corner up and start pulling up carefully, while heat the next section that you are going to remove. Does that make sense to you?
