Default 90 Montero Problem

Ok first off I don't know here to post this so Im posting it here... I have a 90 montero 3.0 V6 that I had replaced the head gasket on... now the motor is violently shaking... Im wondering if I may have leaned on the vavles or let the cam slip a little... either way i need to reset all timing... both cams and probably crank as well... anyone have any experience on doing this to one of these... the chiton doesn't explain ****

Not trying to sound like a know-it-all but I dont see how you could have changed a head gasket without completly retiming the belt. Anyway turn the engine over by hand until you have the timing mark on the balancer pulley aligned with the "T" in the timing plate, where you would check the ign timing with a light. There is a notch in the cam pulley right at the edge on a tooth, look and see if it is aligned with a notch on the valve cover.

you actually can take the heads off without taking the cams and valves and rocker arms out... you just you a C clamp to hold them into position...

Now the notch your talking about is marked with a white dot... everything was lined up when I went to put the timing belt back on... I went to go fire it up and it ran like **** so I cut it off immediately... so here is what I am wondering... do I need to rotate each cam and crank a couple times then line them back up... or is there something else that I may have over looked... I know everything is back together right except for this one little issue with the timing...
