99 eclipse gs idles at 5000 rpm

Default 99 eclipse gs idles at 5000 rpm

couple days ago i took of my thottle body intake and fuel injector to change them. put everything back on started car up fine but the engine jumps right to 5000rpm and wont budge. any ideas on what might be wrong?

Is the throttle cable hung up on something?

no throttle cable is fine tightened the cable guide in the same place as before

Is the throttle plate completely closed?

yeah and if i pop the throttle the rpm jump up then straight down to about 1000 for a second or two then right back up steady around 4500-5000

Can you open the thottle manually? When you let go make sure its closing and not sticking open.

tried that. the plate opens and closes without any drag. friend said that it might be a vacuum leak but i dont even know where to start with that. maybe i'll just retrace my steps

Could be a vacuum leak but that'll usually make the car want to stall.
