car has no heat
my 2002 galant is not putting out any heat. i have checked fuses, coolant level etc. it appears the heater control valve is not opening. the door opens as i have gone in the dash to verify it opens and closes. last year when i would switch the dash **** from cool to heat i would hear a buzzing sound on ocassion but it would throw heat. this time no noise no heat. i cannot find a schematic for the car. is the heater control valve operated by a relay and if so where is the relay and how could i check it with a meter? thanks
The easiest way to check a relay is to swap it with a similar relay. If you heard a buzzing it could be either the relay or the motor (If it's controlled by a motor). I'd suggest getting a chiltons or Haynes manual they should ave schematics for you.
There are 2 blend doors visible from under the dash. One is to switch from fresh air to recirc air, the other is to switch from hot and cold. Have tried moving the **** on the dash while inspecting to see if the blend doors move? I just want to make sure your verifying the right blend door.
