Eclipse problems after tune-up
Hi Everyone,
New member here. Already have found alot of good info here. Wondering if someone could help me. Gave my Wife's 01 3.0L Eclipse Spyder a tune-up yesterday - denso plugs, cap/rotor, wires, and K&N drop in filter. When I started it up it was/is running rough and threw a cel before I hit the end of the block. It's blowing white smoke and I can smell gas at the tailpipe. No power when I accelerate. The local Autozone is over an hour away on a round trip and I'm wondering if I could drive it that far to get the code(s) read without totally screwing up the car? Any ideas would be appreciated. Almost wished I left it alone, but the stuff I replaced was badly worn.
Thanks,

Make sure you hooked up the air sensor correctly, check all the connections are tight and there are no air leaks.
Then reset the ECU by removing the negative battery terminal for about a min, andturn the key in the ignition while the battery is dissconnected just to drain any extra power.

Well, I'm an idiot. It's amazing. The car still starts and runs even if you have #3 & #5 crossed at the cap. DOH! Had to take the plenum off again to figure that out.Cars running fine now. Thanks everyone for your help.
