Engage 4WD 1998 Sport
I want to know how exactly the 4WD is engaged on the 1998 Montero Sport.
The instructions say something about keeping the wheels straight, and the speed below 100 km/h, and to "slacken" the accelerator, whatever that means.
From a parked position, it says to put the vehicle in neutral, again with the wheels in the straight ahead position, then shift into 4L, or 4H.
However, the instructions say nothing about the A/T Mode button. When would this get depressed? before or after shifting? Does it matter?
A more clear, concise set of instructions is welcomed and appreciated. Thanks!
