2WD vs 4WD (not 4WD Lock)
Hi All...just wondering about something...I have a 07 Outlander XLS. I keep it in "4WD" pretty much all the time. When I have used "2WD", I found myself spinning the front wheels on dry or wet ground. So keeping it in "4WD" eliminated that. My question, am I harming or putting unnecessary strain on the tranny by doing this? Should I only use 2WD and save 4WD for wet or snow? Any info would be great!

The only reason for using 2WD on your model year could be to potentially increase MPG. No harm is done using constant 4WD Auto, handling and safety is better in this mode. Anyway it is 4WD Auto, which means rear axle is gradually engaged only as needed.
