Engine cutting out at low speed
Hi All,
1993 shogun 3.0 eci-multi automatic converted to autogas (not recent). I am experiencing a potentially dangerous problem! When approaching junctions, and especially when on roundabouts, (always less than 10mph), the ecu is cutting power off approx 1 in every 6 or 7 times. Obviously the power steering goes, and being auto, I have to stop to re-start. I took it in for diagnostics but the garage couldn't find the ecu plugin. They have however checked the power steering switch and connections to the engine and eliminated it. This has happened when on petrol so probably not an autogas fault. Doesn't matter if engine hot or cold either. Vehicle runs 'as new' otherwise. Please help, I'm desperate!
The garage checked for the ecu plugin behind the glovebox and behind the heater. Where the heck is it!
Many thanks
Richie

RE: Engine cutting out at low speed
The 93 Montero (which i think is the Shogun's equivelant in the USA) has it's data link connector at the drivers side kickpanel just beside the fusebox. Hopefully that information helps.
