To start I have a 98 Eclipse GS 420a allstock. I'm not completely tearing down the engine, just enough to replace the piston and what nots. Someone told me that the engine comes out of the bottom, although I'm not taking the engine out, is it possible to pull thebottom of the engineand replace the pistons or is it more complicated.

 

If you have a lift... yes its possible.

 

Thanks, I just had to confirm the simplicity of it before I actually went for it. This job is going to save a lot of money. Especially considering I was about to replace the whole engine.
