Error code p1603 fix!

Error code p1603 fix!
So I just bought a '02 Eclipse GT, and the problem is, I'm getting error code p1603. The code registers as Backup Battery Circuit Malfunction, but I have no idea what that means. The car won't start and I don't know what to do, ANY HELP??!
