Default Federal Emission Warranty?

I was just scanning through the owners/warrenty manual for my daughter's 2002 eclipse and I see that the ECM,CATALYTIC CONVERTER,and ONBOARD EMISSION DIAGNOSTIC DEVICE are covered for defects/performance for 8 years or 80,000 miles.Has anyone had repairs made under this warranty? Our Eclipse has died (no spark) and I was thinking it may be the module,as I already changed the cap and rotor without result. Where is the coil on this thing?

Im shooting for either the mass air sensor, or a crank/cam sensor.

How do I check these? Where are they located? Why do you suspect these parts?

Because both fit the symptoms you have.

The only way to check them is to change them.

The MAS is located on the cars intake. Its that black box looking thing.

The crank/cam sensor is located on the crankshaft and / or camshaft.

I finally gave in and had it towed to the shop..................It was the distributor.
It cost $700.00 installed ,but now my daughter has her car back and I have my truck back from her! At least I did'nt have to pay for the three tow jobs........................................
What else is on the horizon? When should the timing belt be changed? How difficult for a do it yourself or how much would a shop charge?
