I'm a new member and would appreciate any help or advice. When I turn the wheel too far left or right at low speeds with my 97 Eclipse I get a shrieking noise from the front end. It happens going forwards and backwards. The car is not modified in any way and has stock wheels and standard tires. I've had the car for over a year and this problem started about two months ago. What should I check? Also, any recommendations for a trustworthy mechanic in East Phoenix? Thanks

cv axle?....is it the power steering motor whining?....or perhaps a tire rubbing somewhere?

 

I have a 97 GST and I had a simliar noise it could be a wheel bearing. that is what mine was. or the cv but I'd look into the wheel bearing
