Default fuel filter replacement

i'm replacing my fuel filter in my 91' eclipse, and i know i'm supposed to depressurize the fuel system, otherwise i could blow myself up, so i was wondering how to do that, a book i have says to unplug the electricity to my fuel pump, but i can't find it

Don't worry about it just unhook the lines to the filter and make sure the car is off and battery is unhooked. It will only spit out a little gas nothing to worry about.

If you are concerned then you could just disconnect the battery as it will have the same effect.

OR you can unscrew the gas cap to release the pressure. then get the hoses off each end Just have a rag and maybe someone to help keep the gas in the line. Also don't worry if you car doesn't start right away it's just getting the air out of the system.
