I have a 2000 Eclipse GT. The battery went dead after it had sat a few months in storage so we jump started it. I had to enter in my security code, then tried to start it. When I turn the key the ignition turns over but the fuel pump does NOT engage. When I have started the car in the past you can hear the fuel pump kick on. The fuses are not blown, spark plugs are fine, and there is a new battery in it. Any suggestions? Is there a relay somewhere, or a reset for the security system other than entering in the code? Please help!! Thanks

 

If you are referring to the engine immobilizer (entering the code through the brake pedal)- you shouldn't have to enter the code even if the battery dies for an extended period of time. So long as you are using the right transpoder key, it should fire right up. If you DON'T have the right key (in which case the security light will flash in the dash) and you're manually entering the bypass code through the brake pedal-- are you sure you're entering it correctly? IF you did enter it correctly, the security key light on the dashboard will illuminate solid. If not, you're either doing it wrong or entering the wrong bypass code and the security light will continue to flash.

If there is a problem in an immobilizer together with the fuel pump atomizers will not work, and it is easy for checking up.
