Default 07 XLS Security System

Hi: Does the 07 XLS with FAST have a pre-installed alarm in it? I don't recall seeing a security system as being offered as an accessory. The owners manual gives some info onthe security alarm but how do I know I have it? Please advise. Thanks.

Get in the car, press the lock on the remote. Wait about 5 min then manually flip the door lock and open the door. The alarm should go off. The manual goes into some settings available as well.

The reason I said 5 min is because I tried this right after setting the alarm and it didn't go off.

Also I noticed today that I think the airbag light blinks when the alarm is on. Unfortunately my husband had walked off with the remote so I couldn't play with it when I noticed it.

Or you could put the windows down, lock the car via FastKEY and leave it out of range. Get back to your vehicle and open the driver's door via the handle inside. Hope you have your ear plugs on when testing this. And some people complain the Outlander needs real horns

I thought it wasn't loud enough either, but a party favorite at our house is to honk at the poor family member that is walking in front of the car, which is usually my son.

He has asked that I not do this with the Outie anymore as the horn is soo loud it hurts his ears.

Thats fine with me, I have 4 other vehicles I can do it to him with

And yes you can leave the window down but its much more fun to lock your kid in the car and have him set it off when he gets out.

And before you freak about leaving the kid in the car, he's old enough to drive. If hes not old enough to leave in the car then... theres a problem.
