i have some engine problems. can anyone help me please? ok first of all when i rev the engine up i look behind the car and i see a cloud of smoke (white smoke) and also it spits oil out the exhuast pipe.

then second, when im driving i go to put it in 3rd gear it grinds. thats the only gear that does that. i asked someone that works on them but i dont know bout him. he said that it sounds like the syncronizer needs adjusted or something like that. then someone else tells me that the gears and clutch needs to be reajusted

3rd of all the engine seems like its hittin the higher rpms way 2 fast and early.it shouldnt hit them that fast cause the top speed is 160 mph and for some reason it i think it wont go faster than 100 and i know its not the govener

THE ONLY THING THAT I HAVE DONE TO THE MOTOR IS PUT GREDDY HEADERS, AEM COLD AIR INTAKE, AND HYPERTECH EXHUAST SYSTEM. ILL PUT A PIC OF THE MOTOR ASAP OHH YEA THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON

Are you sure it's spitting oil out of the exhaust and not carbon and water??? I think it's just spitting the carbon out of the exhaust...mine did after I installed my full 3 inch system.

 

no its spitting oil and smoke. its white smoke even when im idling. it never did it when i just sat there and now it does

 

blown head gasket. Thats what it is

 

ok but what about the grinding in third gear. its the only gear that does it. and the rpms are redlining at 3000 to 4000 when they sould redline at 7000 to 8000 rpm

 

Ok well the grinding is definetly probably a bad syncro, which you cant realign. you have to replace it. And your car does not have a top speed of 160. Not even close, id say at most maybe 130mph. So what your saying is the car is at 3-4k rpms at 100mph, which is normal. Your car just doesnt have much top end, so to get it up to speed its not gonna do it very quickly.

And for the CEL. Go to autozone and have them get the code for you so you can figure out what its telling you.
