So I have a 2011 mitsubishi rvr se. I have recently had issues with the running of this vehicle that
has me dumb founded. It started with what seemed like a bad battery cell causing it to need a boost periodically
, then more frequent finally having to boost every time I went out
I changed the battery but the issue still persisted. Now because it is a manual transmission I was able to jump it in first gear sometimes with no proble.s other times it took a few tries to get it started.
Final major issue was while I was driving down the busiest hwy in ontario the 401 all my lights on the dash came on then off again. My lights went dim and I had no power steering . In a panic I attempted to put on my flashers only to discover I had no control.over anything. The lights and everything else was dead leaving me a sitting target for what I knew was going to be a horrible accident. Thankfully the power came back enough for me to limp.it to the shoulder but still no lights or steering. I turned off the vehicle and sat trying to recap what happened . Tried the ignition and it started right away but it was jerking and chugging
Where is had no control of the acceleration or full input to the car.
I was able to finally get it home and after some time tried it but it was dead. I changed the altinator and put in a new battery. Problem still persisted so on a hope and prayer thought maybe the altinator was defective so again changed it
it was successful .. for a day. The next day after driving for only about 20 minites it again flashed all the lights and died again. That is where it sits.i have no idea what to do from here. I have all sorts of codes on the obd reader and no power at all to the vehicle unless I charge the battery all night and it then only lasts for a max 24 hrs if I don't turn anything on like the lights or heat.
anyone have any ideas or suggestions I am.open to all input. O am at my breaking point amd am now looking for an alternate vehicle even rhoughi only bought this one a few months ago.

OK so a few things to look into first, is there anything new you’ve put in the vehicle lately? Phone charger, dash cam, etc? It sounds like you have some sort of parasitic draw but once the engine is running there shouldn’t be an issue.

with that being said, it would also seem that you may have a connection problem from the alternator to the electrical system. Maybe look into your fuse block and see if you have one that popped. Trace out where the power goes and if you can find a loose connector.
