Default Help! Outlander 1cm too high for Motorail

Hello there,

Can anyone help? For various reasons (train enthusiast son, autistic daughter with very particular requirements etc...), we want to take our 2007 Outlander Elegance (diesel) on the Dutch motorail to Slovenia for our summer hols. The Motorail height restriction is 1cm lower than the 'official' height of the car (with roof rails - apparently they count).

Assuming (we haven't checked yet, but will before booking) the actual height is what's important rather than the official height, can anyone advise on the best and cheapest way of losing at least 1 cm? Temporary removal of roof rails? Will loading it up to the gunnels work?! Anything else?

We're not technically minded, so it would be a trip to our very nice and accommodating mechanic to do anything in the way of modification. Just not quite ready to give up well advanced plans/hopes yet for the sake of a centimetre...

Any and all ingenious suggestions very welcome.

Many thanks

I agree with Akzle then pump them back up when you get off the motorail.
