high oil pressure
#2
did you recently change the oil with a thicker weight oil? That can cause higher than normal pressure. Also i dont know what car you have but sometimes a bad pressure relief valve will cause the pressure to get alittle higher than normal. Ussually high pressure like you are seeing is not overly problematic. Low pressure would be a problem. But i would say try a lighter weight oil next time you change and see if that helps it. Also see if it goes down when the engine is warmed up (it should alittle). But if it persists it may be the relief valve or just a sending unit giving bad signals.

thank you Engineer, i think i'll put a lighter type of oil in there soon and by the way, i have a 97 mitsubishi 3000GT, just a regular v6 and the oil that i last put in there was a 10w30 Mobil brand. and usually when i let the car warm up it's right in the middle or just a tiny bit below the middle which is ok...i'll try a lighter oil soon to test it out...thanks for the reply dude!
