Jammed door
Help !!!
Had an 89 Shogun LWB for about 18 months now, got a problem with the back cargo door.
When I bought it all worked fine, around six months ago I needed to get something big in the back, but the door wouldnt undo, took the interior panel off and managed to open it by moving the linkage inside manualy.
Now another six months on and I have a real prob, I need to open the back door again, but even if I pull the linkage inside I still cant get it to open.
I have pushed and shoved on it, and even tried to ease it open by levering with a large screwdriver while operating the linkage, but still wont move, I can only assume that the lock catches themselves are gummed up or something due to lack of use.
Is there any way to undo the cates so that the door will come open, and then repair them, or has anyone else had this problem and knows a way out of it.
Thanks in anticipation

I have an 02 Montero and having the same issue. Doors are unlocked, but the handle does not do anything.
1. How can I get the door open now? What panel do I take off to get to the lock, I looked from inside and can't see how it is possible.
2. What can possibly have gone wrong and how to fix it.
Greatly appreciate your help.
Alex.

Please ignore my earlier post. A bit more digging and I have found gold.
