Smile Just need help

Hey I have a 98 gst. I am not sure what happened or what is wrong with my car, some are saying it's the clutch bearing or throw out bearing whatever. Basically I can start my car up just fine in neutral, but then my car won't shift to any gear. When I turn my car off it will go into any gear. Then when I try and start my car in gear it just jerks fwd and won't start. Any ideas? Just need a few more ideas and opinions before I go out and buy the wrong part.
Thanks.

sounds like a throw out bearing to me. If i were you while you are in there i would just get a new clutch depending on the miles on the car. Its worth it to do now while you have the transmission off, and a clutch plate itself isnt too much

I would get someone to press the clutch pedal and you look to see if the slave cyl is moving the lever or fork. If you just put in a clutch, Im sure you got a new release or "throw out" bearing. Also that model had a problem with crankshaft thrust bearings. You would push the clutch and it would move the crankshaft forward instead of completly disengaging the clutch . Does the clutch pedal pressure still feel the same, did this happen all at once, is there any abnormal noise?

Question

No it doesn't make any weird noise. The clutch on the other hand doesn't feel right. Feels like it lost pressure. Acts as if it wants to stick.

Good news for you. Its either the master or slave cylinders. I would replace both. Every time I just replaced one, the other would fail soon after. Beats the heck out of pulling the transmission.
